Kansas City Hats

Kansas City, heat-stamped on full-grain leather and made to order. KC, the 816, the 913, the MCI code. Wear where you're from.

About Kansas City Hats

Kansas City straddles a state line and never lets it get in the way — barbecue and jazz, fountains and the Chiefs, a Missouri side and a Kansas side that share one identity. Locals say KC, and they know exactly which code is theirs: the 816 in Missouri, the 913 across the river in Kansas.

We heat-stamp KC, the 816, the 913, and the MCI airport code deep into a full-grain leather patch, pressed in rather than lasered onto the surface. Wherever you land on the map, it's a hat that says KC. Made to order and stamped by hand — the leather only gets better the longer you wear it.

Common questions about our leather patch hats

FAQ

Where are your hats made?

Every hat is handcrafted to order in small batches. We source premium hat blanks and full-grain leather, then handle the design, cutting, heat-stamping, and assembly ourselves. Small batches, high standards.

Why heat-stamped and not laser-engraved?

We use heated brass dies to press our designs into full-grain leather, creating a deep, detailed impression with natural texture. Unlike laser engraving—which burns the surface and can look flat or scorched—heat-stamping produces a rich, premium look that won't fade or wear away over time. It's the same technique used by traditional leather craftsmen, and it's why our patches stand out.

What type of leather do you use for your leather patches?

We use full-grain leather—the highest quality leather available. Full-grain means the hide's natural surface hasn't been sanded or buffed, so it's stronger, more durable, and develops a natural patina over time. It's the same leather used in premium wallets and belts, and it's why our patches look better the longer you wear them.

What does your lifetime craftsmanship guarantee cover?

We stand behind the quality of our work. If your leather patch peels, cracks, or separates from the hat due to a craftsmanship defect, we'll replace it—no time limit. This doesn't cover normal wear and tear, but it does mean you can trust that your hats are built to last.
