Milwaukee Hats

MKE and the 414 — Milwaukee on the lake, heat-stamped into full-grain leather and made to order. Wear where you're from.

About Milwaukee Hats

Milwaukee sits on Lake Michigan with a brewer's history and a working-class streak — the lakefront and the festivals, custard and brats, a summer that the whole city spends outdoors making up for winter. Locals wear it as MKE and the 414.

We heat-stamp MKE and the 414 deep into a full-grain leather patch, pressed in rather than lasered onto the surface. Whether you're from the East Side, the South Side, or the suburbs ringing the county, it's a Milwaukee hat that says so. Made to order, stamped by hand, and better every season you wear it.

Common questions about our leather patch hats

FAQ

Where are your hats made?

Every hat is handcrafted to order in small batches. We source premium hat blanks and full-grain leather, then handle the design, cutting, heat-stamping, and assembly ourselves. Small batches, high standards.

Why heat-stamped and not laser-engraved?

We use heated brass dies to press our designs into full-grain leather, creating a deep, detailed impression with natural texture. Unlike laser engraving—which burns the surface and can look flat or scorched—heat-stamping produces a rich, premium look that won't fade or wear away over time. It's the same technique used by traditional leather craftsmen, and it's why our patches stand out.

What type of leather do you use for your leather patches?

We use full-grain leather—the highest quality leather available. Full-grain means the hide's natural surface hasn't been sanded or buffed, so it's stronger, more durable, and develops a natural patina over time. It's the same leather used in premium wallets and belts, and it's why our patches look better the longer you wear them.

What does your lifetime craftsmanship guarantee cover?

We stand behind the quality of our work. If your leather patch peels, cracks, or separates from the hat due to a craftsmanship defect, we'll replace it—no time limit. This doesn't cover normal wear and tear, but it does mean you can trust that your hats are built to last.
